Our vibrant and dynamic setting offers children a safe and diverse environment in which to start their learning.

Development

Children develop very warm relationships with the staff who offer high levels of support and encouragement, helping each child to reach their full potential.

Our Setting

The well resourced classrooms provide learning opportunities for all children but it is our outdoor space that we enjoy using the most.

Play

From our artificial grass play area which is accessible all year round, to our mud kitchens, builder’s yard and kitchen garden, we provide the children with a range of activities and adventures.

Fundraising Events

Our Pedagogy

  1. We take children from 12 months until they are ready to start school.
  2. We provide breakfast and afterschool club for the adjacent primary school.
  3. Payment is accepted from a wide range of employee voucher schemes.
  4. We are open weekdays during term time from 7.45am to 6pm.
  5. Snacks and drinks are included in sessions fees.
  6. Cooked lunches are available to order from the primary school.
  7. We are located in the grounds of the village primary school which ensures an effective and smooth transition to school.

We are also able to offer 15 hours free entitlement funding for 3 and 4 year olds along with the extended offer of an extra 15 hours funded childcare for working families.  We also offer places to two year olds who are eligible for special funding from the local authority. To check your eligibility for these funded places please speak to a member of staff who can direct you to the correct website for applications.

Room Manager

I have been working at Alderbury Preschool for 9 years. I started in 2008 as the Caterpillars room leader and in 2016 I took on the role of setting manager working with Ruth.  I have a NVQ level 3 in Child care and have over the past few years been working on Level 4 modules in various child care subjects. I am the setting SENCo and have undertaken training in Autism and behaviour management.  When I am not at preschool I enjoy walking my dogs and looking after my daughter’s horse.

I am an Early Years Professional with a degree in child psychology and have been working at Alderbury pre-school as a room manager since 2016. I am deputy safeguarding officer, head of the EYFS curriculum and qualified in paediatric first aid. I moved to Salisbury 5 years ago and love exploring the beautiful city. At the weekends I enjoy  visiting family and friends in Devon.

I have been with Alderbury preschool for over 10 years. I enjoy teaching and caring for children aged 3 to 4 years in the Butterflies.  I am a qualified early years practitioner with a Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People Workforce. I am a trained paediatric first aider and have also been trained in food hygiene. I have also obtained the NCFE Cache Level 3 certificate in Supporting teaching and learning in school. I am passionate about cooking and enjoy listening to music.

I have been working at Alderbury Preschool since 2004.  I have an NVQ 3 in Childcare and also have recent training on Paediatric first aid and Food Hygiene.  I enjoy working in the Caterpillars room with our youngest  children and like to think we offer a home from home at preschool, giving them love, care and support. We take each child as they come and make them shine.   My hobbies include running, diving and looking after and walking my Jack Russells.

After finishing work as a Nanny, I worked in a local nursery, before joining Alderbury Pre School, where I have worked for the last 6 years and have gained my Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young Peoples Workforce. I have worked 1:1 with children who have special needs, and worked in both rooms, as well as breakfast and After School Club.I am passionate about working with young children, and strive to deliver a quality experience for the children in my care. My other interests are gardening, knitting, sewing and baking cakes, as well as camping, walking and exploring old buildings and castles

I have an NVQ3 in Childcare, have been trained in paediatric first aid, food hygiene and recently passed a Level 2 course about Autism.  I have been married to Graham for nearly 30 years and have two grown up children. Now the children are older Graham and I like to spend our free time travelling.

My son first started attending Alderbury Preschool from 14 months old. After seeing the quality of care and nurture provided to him, I joined the team and started working in the Caterpillars room in 2018. I have worked in the childcare sector since 2004 and gained my joint honours degree in education and psychology prior to this. I have now also obtained my NVQ level 3 and QCF 5 in health and social care. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and recently ventured into fostering rescued dogs.

My name is Sharon but everyone at preschool calls me Ronnie. I’ve been working at Alderbury preschool for 7 years. I have a diploma in pre-school practice, along with other relevant qualifications, such as Paediatric First Aid. I enjoy working in the Caterpillars room, and watching the children’s characters develop.

My name is Linzi and I have been a member of staff at Alderbury Preschool for 8 years. I have an NVQ3 in Child Care and also Paediatric First Aid certificate.  I have also attended training on communications and language and literacy skills in the early years. I particularly enjoy all the play we do outside at Alderbury and enjoy helping the children explore the plants, insects and animals that are all around us. My hobbies include walking especially along beaches (where I find bits and pieces to bring back to preschool) and yes the odd bit of ‘retail therapy’.

I started working at Alderbury Preschool in 2019 and my little girl currently attends. I have worked in childcare sector since I was 17, working in big and small nurseries . I still enjoy working with the children as much now as I did 17 years ago. In my spare time I enjoy going for muddy walks with my two children and doing arts and crafts with them.
